Global Life is moving to a new office in the Dallas-Forth Worth metroplex.
The health insurance company said Monday that it is slated to acquire 7677 Henneman Way in McKinney, Texas. The 200,000-square-foot, six-story office building will house more than 2,000 workers, supporting the company's plan to grow its workforce and policyholder base over time.
In addition to the office building, the company said it will buy two tracts of developable land adjacent to the property: an 8-acre tract to the north and a 1.3-acre tract to the east.
A purchase price was not disclosed.
Global Life was previously headquartered at 3700 South Stonebridge Drive in McKinney, according to the company's most recent annual filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Henneman Way office is located less than five miles from the South Stonebridge Drive office, Google Maps shows.
A company spokeswoman did not immediately respond to an inquiry regarding Global Life's plans for its office on South Stonebridge Drive.
The office at South Stonebridge Drive is situated on a more than 43-acre lot and comprises just over 300,000 square feet, according to a LoopNet property listing.
