NuCoal Resources (ASX:NCR) will assert its case for compensation for losses incurred due to the cancellation of exploration license 7270 after New South Wales Premier Chris Minns denied the compensation in a recent letter, the company said in a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The company's board finds the Premier's position "completely unacceptable" and will continue to press its case for compensation domestically and internationally with the US Trade Representative under the Australia/US Free Trade Agreement, the filing added.
The company said it is unclear whether the Premier's letter represents the government's response to the Law and Justice Committee recommendation of 2019, or whether a response will be provided to the Parliament separately, the filing added.
The office of the NSW Premier did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
