Woodward raised its dividend to 28 cents, from 25 cents.

The new payout, equal to $1.12 a year, represents an annual yield of about 0.6% based on Monday's closing price of $187.90.

The Fort Collins, Colo., company, which makes energy-control products for the aerospace and industrial markets, said the higher dividend will be paid March 6 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 20.

The higher dividend came as the company posted lower sales and revenue fell in its fiscal first quarter, dragged down by lower volumes.
