New World Resources (ASX:NWC) said that its Antler copper project in Arizona received an environmental permitting approval from the US Bureau of Land Management, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The firm's mine plan of operations application received a determination of adequacy under the National Environmental Policy Act.
The bureau determined that the application will be evaluated under an environmental assessment, which is required to be completed as part of the Federal government's permitting process in the US.
The firm said it is well advanced in securing all major permits and authorizations in the state of Arizona required for operations. An aquifer protection permit, air quality permit, and a mined land reclamation plan are currently under assessment.
Its shares rose almost 12% in recent trading on Friday.
