Feb 5 - (The Insurer) - Axis Capital has promoted Steve Cucciniello to head of primary casualty, effective immediately.
Cucciniello, who joined Axis in 2014 and most recently served as senior vice president, primary casualty, brings over three decades of experience to his new role.
Prior to joining Axis, Cucciniello held positions at Admiral Insurance Company, Aspen Insurance, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, and Otterstedt Insurance Agency.
In his new role, Cucciniello will lead the primary casualty team, focusing on advancing strategy by collaborating with strategic brokers and serving customers. He reports to Anna Tan, head of wholesale casualty at Axis.
Axis emphasised that Cucciniello’s promotion reflects the company’s commitment to driving growth within casualty by leveraging talent across industries such as construction, manufacturing, real estate, and hospitality.
“His knowledge and expertise position him perfectly to build a strong, sustainable, and balanced book across North America,” said Tan.
In January, Axis announced the promotion of former assistant vice president Atessa Lemaire to media product manager, replacing Karen Baldwin, who left the company after two decades.
