Redwire Corporation (RDW) said Wednesday it has been awarded a study contract by the European Space Agency to create a spacecraft design for a mission aimed at exploring dark matter.

Financial details of the contract weren't provided.

The Accreted galaxies as a Key Instrument for Halo Surveys program will involve Redwire's Belgian branch conducting initial studies using an adapted version of its Hammerhead satellite platform, the company said.

If the project proceeds, Redwire will construct the satellite in Belgium, it added.

The company's shares were up 0.6% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
