Consumer stocks rose premarket Monday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) up 0.2% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) 0.4% higher recently.
Edgewell Personal Care (EPC) shares fell by over 6% after the company reported lower fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and revenue.
Playa Hotels & Resorts (PLYA) shares advanced by more than 2% after the company said it agreed to be acquired by Hyatt Hotels (H) for $13.50 per share in cash.
McDonald's (MCD) shares were up over 2% even after the company reported lower Q4 non-GAAP earnings and revenue.
