TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has assured that performance allowances or incentives for lecturers will be paid by the government.

Sri asserted that these incentives will be given to 97,734 lecturers across four categories. For lecturers at legal entity higher education institutions (PTNBH), she affirmed that incentives have been and will continue to be paid.

"They have and will continue to receive performance allowances or remuneration according to PTNBH standards," said Sri in a press conference in the meeting room of the House Commission III on Friday, February 14, 2025.

Besides PTNBH lecturers, Sri claims that remuneration has also been given to lecturers working in State Universities with Badan Layanan Umum (BLU) status. However, there are still several BLU universities that have not implemented the remuneration system for their lecturers.

The state treasurer promised that lecturers at BLU universities who have not received these incentives will have their payments processed. The same goes for lecturers at work units (satker) at state universities and civil servant (PNS) lecturers at the Directorate General of Higher Education Agency or LLDT.

The legal basis for these incentives will be further regulated through a Presidential Regulation (Perpres). The Finance Ministry is currently collecting data related to lecturer remuneration.

"The Perpres on the incentives is in the final stage and will be completed soon," said the former managing director of the World Bank.

Previously, the Labor Union of the Gadjah Mada University's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (SPF UGM) criticized the government's policy of not providing incentives to civil servant (ASN) lecturers in the PTNBH environment.

"PTNBH lecturers are exempted under the pretext that PTNBH campuses are capable of funding lecturer incentives," said SPF UGM in their official statement on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
