0954 GMT - A center-right government would be the most favorable toward a deal between Italy's UniCredit and German lender Commerzbank, Morningstar analyst Michael Field says in a market comment ahead of Sunday's elections in Germany. "Their voter base is generally less concerned about protecting workers from job losses at all costs as a result of a takeover," he notes. UniCredit has recently built up a 28% stake in Commerzbank and signaled its intention to pursue a tie-up, triggering political opposition in Berlin. The Alliance 90/The Greens have been the most open toward a deal but their inclusion in a coalition isn't guaranteed, Field says. The parties that are likely to enter the parliament have voiced concerns about the Italian lender's approach, he adds. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
