Financial stocks rose pre-bell Monday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) recently advanced by 0.5%.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 1.6% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.4% lower.
Apollo Global Management (APO) will acquire Bridge Investment Group (BRDG) for an equity value of $1.5 billion, the companies said. Shares of Bridge Investment rose by over 34% premarket.
Equitable (EQH) said it launched a cash tender offer to purchase up to 46 million AllianceBernstein (AB) units for $38.50 per unit, totaling about $1.8 billion. AllianceBernstein shares were up over 6% pre-bell.
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) shares advanced by more than 2% after the company said it has raised its target for lending to sustainable businesses to 700 billion euros ($732.9 billion) from 2025 to 2029.
