1848 ET - AMC Entertainment is boosting its subscription plans to attract more families to its theaters. The theater operator is lowering the minimum age to sign up for its A-list membership plan--which allows up to 3 movies every week for a monthly payment--to 13 years old from 16 years old previously. That should encourage more parents to make their children sign up for the program, CEO Adam Aron says on a call with analysts. AMC is also launching a new A-List classic subscription plan to watch a movie a week. These initiatives come as domestic industry-wide movie-theater attendance remains down almost 40% from 2019 levels, he adds. Shares rise 0.9%, to $3.30, after-hours.
