(Update with Rumble's response to a request for comment in the second paragraph.)
US House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent subpoenas to Alphabet (GOOG), Amazon.com (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Meta Platforms (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Rumble (RUM), TikTok and X seeking documentation on each company's communications with foreign governments regarding their respective compliance with foreign censorship laws and regulations.
"Rumble has received the subpoena and we look forward to sharing information related to the ongoing efforts of numerous governments around the globe who seek to suppress the innate human right to self expression," a Rumble spokesperson said in a statement to MT Newswires.
Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta and Microsoft did not immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
