IRC's Iron Ore Production, Sales Increase in Q4'24; Shares Slide 3%

IRC's (HKG:1029) iron ore production rose 10% to 636,362 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2024 from 578,718 tonnes in the year-ago period, while sales increased 6.8% to 627,265 tonnes from 587,413 tonnes a year earlier.

Production continued improving following the opening of mining and processing operations of Sutara ore in the company's K&S mine in July 2024, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

During the quarter, the Sutara mine accounted for about 63% of iron ore yielded during the period, the filing said.

Shares fell 3% during Thursday's afternoon trading.
