Ford's U.S. Sales Decline in February, Hybrid and EV Sales Grow

Ford Motor Co. (F, Financials) reported an 8.9% year-over-year decline in U.S. vehicle sales for February 2025, with total deliveries reaching 158,675 units, according to the company's sales data. Year-to-date sales fell 7.7% to 301,619 vehicles.

While hybrid and electric vehicle sales showed increases, internal combustion engine car sales dropped 12.7% in February to 135,992 units. Sales of hybrid vehicles climbed 27.5% to 15,357 units; sales of electric vehicles climbed 15% to 7,326 units.

To balance a 24.4% dip in SUV sales and a 32.2% reduction in car sales, truck sales climbed 7.7% to 91,735 units in February. Among Ford's EV models, the all-electric F-150 Lightning dropped 14.7% to 2,199 units while Mustang Mach-E sales climbed 13% to 3,312 units. Sales for the E-Transit van more than doubled to 1,815 units.

Lincoln, Ford's premium brand, suffered a 20.5% dip in February sales; all SUV models saw losses as well.

At the end of February, the business had a gross stock of 559,200 vehicles230,500 F-Series trucks, 42,900 Transit vans, and 170,000 SUVs.
