Shares of LendingTree were up in post-market trading Wednesday after fourth quarter results surprised to the upside.
The stock rose 15% to $46.20. Shares ended the market session up 4% to close at $40.27, and have gained 3.9% this year.
The online financial services marketplace reported earnings per share of 55 cents on revenue of $261.5 million. Analysts were expecting a loss per share of 9 cents on revenue of $236.4 million, according to FactSet.
Last year, the company reported EPS of 98 cents on revenue of $134.4M.
LendingTree's adjusted earnings per share for the quarter was $1.16 cents. That was more than double the 53 cents analysts expected, according to FactSet. The company reported adjusted EPS of 28 cents in the same period a year ago.
