GEO Group (GEO) said Monday it has revised an intergovernmental service agreement with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to transition its processing center in Karnes City, Texas, from housing only adult males to housing mixed populations.
GEO said it provides support services at the center under an agreement between Karnes County and ICE, that runs until August 2029.
Under the revised agreement, GEO said it expects to generate approximately $79 million in annualized revenue in the first full year of operations, which is expected to represent incremental annualized revenue of approximately $23 million.
GEO says on its website that it was selected in December 2010 to design, build, finance and manage the detention facility in Karnes City, Texas, under an agreement with ICE.
