Methanex (MEOH) said Sunday it will complete repairs of the autothermal reformer at its methanol plant in Geismar, Louisiana following an unplanned outage in late February.
The company expects the plant to startup by early May.
Methanex is also bringing forward the completion of other planned maintenance activities on the plant, which were "part of a previously budgeted three-week outage which is no longer expected to be required," the company said.
The outage is expected to primarily impact Q2 financial results due to lower produced methanol sales, and the cost of the repairs is not expected to be material, Methanex said.
