Singapore Airlines February Passenger Traffic Rises Marginally

Singapore Airlines (SGX:C6L) said passenger traffic rose 0.5% year on year in February, with 3.1 million passengers carried across its network, according to a Monday filing on the Singapore Exchange.

Group passenger load factor was up 0.2 percentage points to 86.5% from 86.3% a year earlier.

Flagship carrier Singapore Airlines saw a PLF of 85.8%, while low-cost unit Scoot reported 89.5%.

Cargo carriage grew 2.6% year over year despite a post-holiday slowdown, while overall cargo loads were down by 4.9%.

Meanwhile, cargo load factor declined by 4.8 points to 51.9% from 56.7% a year earlier.

Scoot suspended services to Nanchang and Jinan, during the month.

By the end of February, the group's passenger network covered 129 destinations in 36 countries, while its cargo network spanned 133 destinations across 37 countries.
