Nickel Industries (ASX:NIC) received approval from Indonesia's Ministry of Mines for its techno-economic feasibility study to raise its 80%-owned Hengjaya nickel mine to 19 million wet metric tonnes per annum in ore sales from 9 million wet metric tonnes, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The company plans to submit an environmental impact study, the next step to achieve an increased Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Biaya, the triennial work, and a budget plan for operations.
The company's shares fell past 2% in recent trading on Wednesday.
