United Energy (HKG:0467) returned to an attributable profit of HK$1.56 billion in 2024 from a loss of HK$1.71 billion in 2023, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The natural gas and petroleum company returned to basic earnings per share of HK$0.0604 from a los pe share of HK$0.0653 in the previous year.

Turnover grew 29% to HK$17.5 billion from HK$13.6 billion a year earlier.

The company declared a final dividend of HK$0.05 per share, payable June 26 to shareholders on record as of June 11.

Shares surged 9% during Friday's afternoon trading.
