Graphjet Technology said it has named Chris Lai Ther Wei as its new chief financial officer and deputy chief executive officer.
Prior to joining Graphjet, he served as director at Mercury Securities Sdn, from June 2019 until October 2021, when he became director, head of capital markets, serving in that post until February of this year.
He has also advised companies on corporate finance at several notable investment banks in Malaysia, Graphjet said.
He will receive an initial base salary of about $41,000, according to Graphjet.
The company also said it has named Ang Chee Yong, Chen Siow Woon, Pwa Yee Guo and Tan Song Jie to serve on the board of directors.
Graphjet Technology, which has headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, manufactures artificial graphene and graphite.
