Vanguard recently held discussions with major alternative asset managers, including Carlyle Group (CG) and Blackstone (BX), to explore potential partnerships that would market private assets to individual investors, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing an unnamed person familiar with the matter.
The report said the talks were preliminary, and Vanguard currently has no plans to collaborate with either firm.
Matt Piro, Vanguard's global head of oversight and manager search, led the discussions, according to Bloomberg.
Carlyle Group, Vanguard, and Blackstone did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
