Autodesk (ADSK) investor Starboard Value said Wednesday that it has nominated three director candidates for election at the design software maker's upcoming shareholder meeting.

In a letter to Autodesk shareholders, Starboard said the nominees are Geoffrey Ribar, Anna Christine Simons, and Jeffrey Smith.

Starboard, which holds a more than $500 million stake in Autodesk, said that there are numerous issues with the company's response regarding total shareholder return performance and investor day margin targets, and that "management often resorts to misleading statements."

Autodesk did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
