April 1 - (The Insurer) - Old Republic’s newly launched cyber division has hired Christine Flammer from Axa XL to be chief claims officer, continuing the unit’s buildout following the appointments of former Resilience executives Charles “CJ” Pruzinsky, Kevin McGowan and Killian Brady.
Flammer spent the last dozen years with Axa XL and predecessor firm XL Catlin, originally as a team leader within its cyber, technology, and media unit, before spending the last four years as a claims manager.
A lawyer by background, Flammer had previously held claims roles at Liberty International Underwriters and AIG, after previously working for a pair of law firms.
Cyber Risk Insurer was previously the first to report the news in early January that Old Republic International hired former Resilience and Beazley underwriting executives Pruzinsky and McGowan to work on its entry into cyber insurance.
In February, Cyber Risk Insurer was also the first to report that the Old Republic cyber unit had hired Resilience chief underwriting officer Brady as chief operating officer, in addition to bringing aboard longtime Resilience product director Sam Lisi as head of product.
The news of Flammer’s hire at Old Republic comes on the same day that Cyber Risk Insurer was the first to report that MSIG USA has hired Resilience’s global head of sales strategy Sarah Thompson as head of cyber for North America.
Old Republic and Axa XL have been contacted for comment.
