Cobre (ASX:CBE) will start diamond drilling this month to test and verify targets identified from 2024 seismic surveys on the Kitlanya West project in Botswana, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The site clearing and preparation for drill rig mobilization are set to begin soon, the filing said.
The drill program is part of the earn-in to joint venture agreement with BHP (ASX:BHP), according to the filing.
Cobre shares fell nearly 2% in midday trade Tuesday, while BHP Group's shares added over 1%.
