Papa John's International (PZZA) said Thursday that it is expanding its multi-year partnership with Google (GOOG) Cloud to transform its ordering and delivery using artificial intelligence.
The pizza chain said it will leverage Google Cloud's AI, data analytics, and machine learning to improve customer experience both in-store and through digital channels.
Partnership initiatives include using Google BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Gemini to send personalized order suggestions based on customer preferences and upcoming events like birthdays or sports, the company said.
Papa John's will also optimize its loyalty program with generative AI, offer real-time website and app personalization, and predict customer patterns to tailor promotions, it added.
Additionally, the company said an AI-powered chatbot will handle common customer inquiries and escalate complex issues to live agents.
Papa John's shares were down more than 2% in premarket trading, while Google parent Alphabet was off by more than 4%.
