April 7 - (The Insurer) - Greenlight Innovation Syndicate 3456's active underwriter Laure Kearns is leaving her post a little over a year since taking on the role at the Lloyd's business, with her departure bringing an end to her two years with the Cayman Islands-based reinsurer.
Details on Kearns' departure date, her possible destination and a potential successor within Greenlight Re's Lloyd’s business could not immediately be confirmed, but multiple sources confirmed the executive has another role lined up.
Kearns became Syndicate 3456’s active underwriter in January 2024 after first joining the business the previous year as deputy active underwriter.
She previously spent almost three years working for Lloyd’s directly as syndicate performance manager, following previous underwriting roles with Newline Group and Advent Underwriting Limited.
Kearns previously spent time in a pricing role for life insurer LV= following nearly a decade with Allianz as a pricing manager for a 350 million pound ($444.5 million) portfolio made up of animal health and musical instruments insurance business.
Greenlight Innovation Syndicate 3456 was launched in April 2022 under the syndicate in a box (SIAB) model and appointed Andy Gladwin as its inaugural active underwriter.
The syndicate has said that it provides insurance capacity to insurtechs within Greenlight Re’s growing portfolio of investment partnerships.
Gladwin left his role as the syndicate’s active underwriter in April 2024, coinciding with Kearns’ promotion to the post.
The Insurer previously reported that Greenlight Innovations SIAB 3456 improved its combined ratio to 102.6% in 2023 from 230.9% in 2022.
Kearns' imminent departure comes after Greenlight Re’s Cayman-based head of casualty reinsurance Jim Ehman separately left the company last month.
A spokesperson for Greenlight Re did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
