United Microelectronics (UMC) reported Tuesday that its net sales were 19.86 billion New Taiwan dollars ($601.2 million) in March, up 9.3% from a year earlier.

For the three months through March, the Taiwanese chipmaker's net sales rose 5.9% year over year to NT$57.86 billion.
