China has imposed an 84% levy on US products in retaliation to a 104% US tariff on Chinese goods going into effect earlier today, according to a statement on the website of China's finance ministry.
The tariffs will become effective Thursday, April 10.
Beijing, on Wednesday, also added another 11 US companies to a list of unreliable entities, restricting Chinese firms from selling them dual-use goods, CBS News reported.
"If the U.S. truly wants to resolve issues through dialogue and negotiation, it should adopt an attitude of equality, respect and mutual benefit," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Lin Jian reportedly said.
