Brookdale Senior Living has appointed Denise Warren as the company's interim head as it begins a search for the company's next chief executive.
The operator of senior living communities said it has entered into a separation agreement with CEO Lucinda Baier for her to step down from the role, effective April 13, and resign from the board.
Brookdale said that her departure is part of the company's focus on driving operational and financial improvements, and tapping into its owned real estate portfolio.
As a result, the company has initiated a search for the company's next leader and has engaged with executive search firm Spencer Stuart.
In the meantime, the company has appointed Warren, the company's chairman, to the role of interim CEO.
