1014 ET - United Airlines' earnings indicated stability in forward bookings, giving analysts hope the company can withstand fears of an economic downturn. Several airlines said in March they were seeing falling consumer demand due to economic uncertainty, but United said Tuesday advanced ticket sales rose by almost $3 billion from the prior quarter, a good sign for forward bookings, TD Cowen analysts Tom Fitzgerald and Helane Becker say. Premium and international booking are driving that with 17% and 5% growth respectively. While holiday travel could be helping the bookings figures, the numbers are still solid as investors look for a potential deterioration in international booking from tariffs, BofA analyst Andrew Didora says.
