China Shenhua Energy's (HKG:1088, SHA:601088) coal production increased 1.7% to 29.4 million tonnes in March from 28.9 million tonnes in the year-ago period, according to a Monday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
Sales slid 14% to 34.6 million tonnes from 40 million tonnes in the prior-year period due to weaker downstream demand for coal, the filing said.
Gross power generation declined 5.8% to 17.3 billion kilowatt-hours from 18.4 billion kilowatt-hours in the year-ago period.
Total power output dispatch fell 5.7% to 16.3 billion kilowatt-hours from 17.3 billion kilowatt-hours in March 2024.
