Dow Jones
04-24

0343 GMT - Malaysia's headline inflation may edge higher in 2H, driven by potential subsidy cuts and electricity tariff hikes, Moody's Analytics economists Aditi Raman and Eugene Tan say in a note. While inflation eased in March to 1.4%, the lowest reading in over four years--transport, housing and utilities may face rising inflation risks in the coming months amid impending RON95 fuel subsidies reform and electricity tariffs increase, the economists say. Moody's also warns that erratic weather may keep food inflation sticky. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
