Kimberly-Clark Lowers Profit Forecast, Citing 'Geopolitical Landscape' -- WSJ

Kimberly-Clark lowered its profit forecast for the year, in part due to "changes in the global geopolitical landscape."

The maker of Huggies diapers and Scott paper towels now expects its adjusted operating profit to be flat or slightly positive versus last year, stripping out currency fluctuations. It previously had forecast high single-digit profit growth.

"The current environment will now mean greater costs across our global supply chain versus our expectations at the beginning of the year," said Kimberly-Clark Chief Executive Mike Hsu.

Shares of Kimberly-Clark, which reported an unexpected drop in first-quarter organic sales, fell more than 3% in premarket trading.
