State Grid Information & Communication's (SHA:600131) net profit attributable to shareholders in the first quarter soared 117% to 26.3 million yuan from 12.1 million yuan a year earlier, according to a Shanghai Stock Exchange filing on Friday.

Earnings per share jumped 100% year on year to 0.02 yuan from 0.01 yuan.

The Chinese information and communications company's operating income during the same period rose 9.1% to 1.11 billion yuan from 1.02 billion yuan in the preceding year, the filing said.

The company's shares increased 1% in recent trade.
