Australian Gold and Copper (ASX:AGC) assay results received from an air core drilling program at the Achilles discovery in the Cargelligo gold-polymetallic project in New South Wales indicate an extension of the mineralization footprint for at least another 1.2 kilometers southward, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

A total of 280 holes have been drilled for around 10,000 meters to date under the program, with the total designed program expected to be 310 holes. The assays show a silver-gold-lead-zinc-copper-antimony-arsenic-bismuth trend to the south from known mineralization at Achilles.

A zone of anomalous copper and bismuth was also discovered during the drilling.

It is conducting infill drilling, and the firm plans to use further results to assist with targeting leading into the next round of reverse circulation drilling.

Its shares jumped 4% in recent trading on Monday.
