Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of the Russian President, said on the 26th in response to media inquiries that on the 25th, President Putin confirmed Russia's readiness to negotiate with Ukraine without any preconditions during his meeting with U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Vitaly Naumkin.
Peskov also emphasized that Putin had previously stated this position on multiple occasions. On the 25th, Putin held a 3-hour meeting with Naumkin in Moscow, where they discussed topics including the possibility of Russia and Ukraine resuming direct negotiations.
