Whitehaven Coal's (ASX:WHC) managed run-of-mine coal production rose to nearly 9.2 million tonnes in the March quarter from 4.4 million tonnes in the year-ago period, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Managed saleable coal output increased to 7.4 million tonnes from 3.9 million tonnes. Total managed coal sales jumped to 7 million tonnes from 3.8 million tonnes.
Revenue for the fiscal third quarter was $477 million, compared with $702 million in the prior three-month period. The revenue mix reflected 61% metallurgical and 39% thermal coal sales, per the filing.
Whitehaven Coal's shares were up 5% in recent trade.
