1247 GMT - Glencore needs a stronger second-half performance to meet its guidance on copper production, Barclays analysts say in a research note. The company's first-quarter results were weaker than expected, with copper and zinc production missing Barclays's estimates. However, steelmaking and energy coal production came slightly above expectations, the analysts say. The outlook on the market for thermal coal is well supported at current levels for the foreseeable future, they say. Shares trade down 8.9% at 240.55 pence. (pierre.bertrand@wsj.com)
