Royal Bank of Canada (RY) said Tuesday it will abandon its sustainable finance targets due to changes in how the industry measures and reports sustainable finance activities.
In its 2024 sustainability report, the bank said a review showed that its previous method may not have properly captured some of its sustainable finance activities.
Royal Bank of Canada said broader changes to its Sustainable Finance Framework are being considered along with its overall approach to sustainable finance.
Shares were up 0.8% in recent trading.
