0553 GMT - Prudential PLC's strong improvement in new business margin reflects repricing actions and a rebalancing of product mix, JPMorgan Cazenove says in a research note after the insurance and investment business' 1Q print. "This growth is in line with its FY25 guidance (over 10% new business profit growth ambition) and we feel is a great start, with most of the major markets (with the exception of Malaysia) delivering double-digit growth," analysts write. While the numbers should receive a warm reaction, shares could expect some weakness due to the concerning update on its litigation issue in Malaysia, they add. Its continuation of the buyback suggests that this isn't likely to impact Pru's long-term views on capital management, analysts say. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
