Greif (GEF) said Thursday it will permanently close its Los Angeles paperboard mill by June as part of its restructuring efforts.
The closure will remove 50,000 tons of coated recycled paperboard capacity and 22,000 tons of uncoated recycled paperboard capacity from the market, the company said.
About 72 employees will be impacted by the shutdown, according to Greif.
The company cited rising costs and limited integration opportunities as the primary reasons for the closure.
