Total throughput at PBF Energy's Martinez refinery in Northern California is expected to range between 85,000 b/d and 105,000 b/d until full operations can be restored during the fourth quarter, the company said Thursday.
In its quarterly earnings statement, PBF Energy said the refinery began producing limited quantities of gasoline, jet fuel and intermediates since limited operations were restored in April.
PBF said the refinery is expected to run in the current configuration until full operations can be restored. It also said restart of the remaining units, which primarily include the units scheduled for turnaround, is planned for Q4.
The Martinez refinery's crude oil distillation capacity was 157,000 b/d prior to a Feb. 1 fire, according to estimates by the Energy Information Administration.
On April 2, PBF said it would restart some production units including its crude distillation unit at the Martinez refinery near San Francisco following the February fire that broke out during preparations for a turnaround. At that time, the company said it would not restart any units that were damaged or involved in the fire, which include the catalytic gas plant and catalytic feed hydrotreater, until Q4.
