RTX (RTX) and Nightwing Group agreed to pay $8.4 million to settle claims they failed to comply with certain cybersecurity requirements when working for the US Department of Defense, the Justice Department said Thursday.
The Justice Department alleged RTX's former subsidiary Raytheon Cyber Solutions violated the False claims Act by failing to implement cybersecurity controls when performing unclassified work on certain Department of Defense contracts.
The violations allegedly occurred between 2015 and 2021, prior to Nightwing's acquisition of RTX's cybersecurity, intelligence, and services business in 2024, the Justice Department said.
The Justice Department added that its claims were allegations only and there had been no determination of liability.
RTX did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
