Bombardier Saw a Tariff Hiccup Before Clarity Returned -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
05-01

0846 ET - Bombardier saw a hiccup in its orders as customers took a breath to understand what was happening with the tariff situation, something CEO Eric Martel says has now been cleared up. He tells investors on a call that the quarter had some ups and downs, "we've seen the quarter evolving in about three ways," starting with the shock of a sweeping 25% tariff across the board. But then "when tariff clarity came out, we are able to clarify a lot of things, and then we ended up with being USMCA exempt." He says that there were two-to-four weeks where the situation was unclear, and "there was a bit of a pause and we lost a bit of momentum there, but then it came back." (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
