Market Chatter: Goldman Sachs Quietly Scales Back Racial Language in Black Women Investment Program

Goldman Sachs (GS) is removing references to race from its major diversity initiative, 'One Million Black Women,' amid legal concerns, the Wall Street Journal said Friday.

The bank has scrubbed all mentions of 'Black' from its website and related programs in recent weeks without changing its name, the report said.

The changes, driven by the bank's legal team, are intended to avoid potential scrutiny, especially under the Trump administration, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Goldman now frames the initiative not just targeting black women but low- and moderate-income communities, the report said.

Goldman Sachs did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
