Metaplanet (TYO:3350) has established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Metaplanet Treasury, in Miami, Florida, to enhance its Bitcoin treasury operations, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The move aims to strengthen access to institutional liquidity and improve Bitcoin acquisition channels.
The subsidiary, with an initial capital of $10 million, will focus on Bitcoin accumulation and related treasury functions.
Metaplanet shares jumped nearly 12% in morning trade Friday.
