Indonesia's economy grew 4.87% annually in the first quarter as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached 5,665.9 trillion Indonesian rupiah, Bank Indonesia reported Monday.
Quarterly, however, the GDP contracted by 0.98%.
The growth was slightly below the forecast of 4.9% by Trading Economics.
From the production side, the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Business Sector led the growth with a 10.52% jump. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Export Component of Goods and Services experienced rose by 6.78%.
