Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) launched electricity retail offers for residential and small business customers in regional Queensland's Ergon network, giving many consumers access to a competitive alternative to government-run Ergon Retail for the first time, according to a Wednesday statement by the company.

The expansion targets major centers including Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton, and Toowoomba, per the statement.

The company said it is offering incentives such as a AU$50 bill credit, 5,000 Everyday Rewards points, and internet bundle discounts.

Small businesses can also access the new "Sunshine Special" offer with lower daytime rates from 10 am to 3 pm.
