SAIC Motor's (SHA:600104) car sales in April climbed 4.6% to 376,517 units from 360,010 units a year earlier, according to a Shanghai Stock Exchange filing on Tuesday.

The Chinese automobile company produced 386,046 units during the month, 8.8% higher than 354,694 units in the previous year.

For the first four months of the year, sales rose 11% year on year to 1.3 million units from 1.2 million units, while output jumped 16% to 1.4 million units from 1.2 million units a year earlier, the filing said.
